Endless Rooms

Story

You wake up alone in a lavish bedroom, outside the bedroom the rooms are in ruin. Everything is dark. Not far off you hear murmurs and soon a mumbling madman accosts you. You fumble through the rooms but nothing makes sense, hallways double back on themselves, rooms overlap, and through every door there is just more rooms. You have an uneasy feeling, like something is following you in the darkness. Why are there no windows...

Keys

• W/S move forward/backward and A/D to turn left/right and Q/E to strafe left/right
• F to use / open / pick up / close dialog
• I/TAB to open character panel
• mouse click on enemies to attack, doors to open, items to pick up, furniture to use.
• mouse click on Portrait to open character panel
• mouse to interact with character panel. Click on items to wield/use them

Gameplay Tips

• The first journal entry is the the closet of the starting bedroom
• You don't need to fight the creatures of the mansion. They are over come with madness but will leave you alone if you leave them alone
• You only need to find the Key to get to the next set of rooms
• You can rest on some of the furniture you find in the rooms to recover health
• You can destroy the other furniture if they get in the way
• Sometimes items are "inside" the furniture. Destroy the furniture and stand on the tile to see the items
• Sometimes items block doorways or your path. Destry the furniture to be able to pass through the door

Gameplay Secrets (Spoilers)

If you find all 10 journal entries you can escape the mansion.
If you read the journal entries you might realize there is something in the garden behind the mansion.
P key to change the palette of the world ;-)

GameJam Notes:

I ran out of time before I could add sound effects or music or add more items to the game.  Was squashing bugs right up till submission. and then adding the game to itch added bugs :S

There is a bug with the game jam submission that makes enemies not attack back. they will attack if you move beside them, or wait in a square beside them, but if you attack them they won't attack back... bugs right up till submission =D
